Beyond Skywalk Nangshi is a glass bridge about 180 metres long above Phang Nga Bay, about 80 metres above sea level. It stands on the same hill as the Samet Nangshe viewpoint, but it's a separate private complex with its own ticket. It's about an hour and a half's drive from Phuket.
What the glass viewpoint near Phuket is
The bridge runs along the top of the hill and comes out over the cliff above the bay. The floor is glass: triple-layered, about 30 mm thick, rated for up to 500 kg per square metre. At the entrance you're given soft shoe covers so as not to scratch the surface.
Besides the bridge, the grounds have a restaurant, a café and a pool, and the complex is also a hotel with a few dozen rooms: sea-view tents, forest tents, pavilions and villas.
Where it is and how to get there
Khlong Khian, Takua Thung district, Phang Nga province. It's on the mainland past the Sarasin Bridge: about an hour and a half from Patong and a little over an hour from Bang Tao and Laguna. There's a car park on site, and a shuttle takes you from it to the lift.
There's no public transport. You get there by car, by motorbike or with a transfer as part of an excursion — for example, "AMAZING PHANG NGA + THE GLASS BRIDGE" picks you up from your hotel and brings you back.

What it costs and when it's open
Some caution is needed here. Published sources differ a lot: you'll find different ticket prices and different opening hours. Some ticket types include a food voucher for the complex's restaurant and some don't, and children's tickets are priced separately.
The practical conclusion is simple: check the price and hours on the complex's official website on the day of your trip, not in someone's year-old article. If you go with us, the entry ticket is already included in the price of the tour and there's nothing to check.
What you see from the bridge
The same Phang Nga Bay as from the classic viewpoint: karst islands, mangroves below, open water to the horizon. The difference is the height and the feeling — a transparent floor under your feet.
In the morning there is sometimes mist between the islands; in the evening the sun sets over the bay. The complex also promotes its night views: on dark nights you can see glowing plankton in the bay. We take guests to see it on the tour "Glowing plankton: SKYWALK, Mantra Spa and James Bond views".
The bridge or the viewpoint: which to choose
They aren't interchangeable, even though the view is the same.
- The classic Samet Nangshe viewpoint: cheaper, works at sunrise, the ride up is in an open pickup, minimal facilities, a 4 a.m. start
- Beyond Skywalk: more expensive, a glass floor, a lift, a café and toilets; you can come during the day and spare the kids an early start
If you have one free day on your trip and are travelling with children, the Skywalk makes more sense. If what you want is the sunrise mist over the islands, go for the classic viewpoint. Some agencies sell both in one trip: sunrise at the viewpoint, then breakfast and the bridge. That format works, but it makes for a long day.
Things to keep in mind on site
You can't wear shoes on the bridge. The glass heats up in the sun and gets slippery after rain even in shoe covers, so walk carefully. People with a strong fear of heights should know in advance that they'll have to look down.
The fully transparent floor doesn't run the whole length — sections alternate, so you can reach the end without looking down.
